Sandhill Shooting Sports, LLC, an outdoor pistol and rifle range in Lugoff, has partnered with The Gun Vault, LLC, a local firearms retailer in the Pontiac area of Northeast Columbia to offer sales and transfers of firearms at the range.
“We are excited to enter into this agreement with The Gun Vault to be able to offer our range patrons a selection of popular firearms, FFL transfers, and expand our firearm rental options. Our customers have been asking when we would be selling firearms, but that was something that was outside our scope. Partnering with Brad O’Neal & Brian Butler to be able to offer these services is the answer we needed for the convenience of our customers,” says Sherra Scott, co-owner of Sandhill Shooting Sports. “There are places in the Elgin and Lugoff area who deal in used firearms, but none currently who stock new firearms or where you can try before you buy. While The Gun Vault location here at the range will not be able to stock the variety of firearms at the Pontiac location, they will have many of the popular models.”

Due to a decrease in participation over the last several 3-gun matches, and a potential change in the schedule of our match director, the decision has been made to scale back the 3-gun matches at Sandhill Shooting Sports. With the decline in interest in 3-gun, due to the disenfranchisement with 3GN & many of our regular 3-gun competitors moving, being deployed, or switching their interests to long-range shooting, shutting the range down to the public for the whole day for the competition is no longer fiscally prudent.
We are not planning on shutting down the matches completely. Currently, the plan is to scale back to just a few matches per year, instead of every month (or almost every month). Also, the matches we do hold will be limited to no more than 3 squads of 12 to allow everyone to get cycled through the rifle & pistol bay stages first, so those stages can be broken down for those bays to be open to the public.
There will not be a 3-gun match in May due to Memorial Day weekend.
We will begin our Spring operating hours on Wednesday, March 13th. Updated hours will be:
Monday – Closed
Tuesday – Closed
Wednesday – 10 AM – 6 PM
Thursday – 10 AM – 6 PM
Friday – 10 AM – 6 PM
Saturday – 10 AM – 6 PM
Sunday – 1 PM – 6 PM (Closed to the public 4th Sunday each month for 3-Gun competition)
Remember, you must be signed in and out on the range NO LATER THAN 30 minutes prior to closing.
