This Part Applies to ALL Positions
We have a couple of staff who may be leaving soon (law enforcement & moving closer to full-time job), so we will be accepting applications soon. If you are interested in one of the positions, keep reading.
You must be able to pass a background check!
CAT ON PREMISES, so if that is a problem, don’t bother applying. Lance Corporal Chesty McBoomstick has seniority and ain’t goin’ anywhere anytime soon.
The work can be mentally stressful (you know, the general public with firearms all.freakin.day) and the staff regularly vents among ourselves. The language tends to NOT be PG-13 when we are NOT around the general public (you have to watch your tongue when most customers are around)…we have current/former military, LEO, and other first responders who work for/with us…if you know, you know. (Samuel L. Jackson & Deadpool would fit in fine here.)
Our staff performs a variety of job functions – you will have a “main job” but you will not have “one job.” The main focus of ALL staff is the safety of everyone on the shooting range following SOPs. When not monitoring shooting activities on the range or checking-in customers, other non-glamorous duties may be assigned, including, but not limited to picking up brass, repairing/building target stands, emptying trash, cleaning the restrooms, cleaning guns, etc. We like everyone to be trained on everything so we can rotate and take breaks as needed.
Must be able to work during the range’s normal operating hours, INCLUDING WEEKENDS. Normal operating hours are Monday-Saturday 10 AM – 6 PM (5 PM during winter) and Sunday 1 PM – 6 PM (5 PM during winter). Arriving before opening to set up and staying after to clean up may be required depending on needs. You don’t necessarily have to be available EVERY day, but you must have a PREDICTABLE SCHEDULE. We make work schedules a month at a time.
Must SHOW UP…ON TIME. If you frequently have car trouble, kids get sick often, you get sick often, or other issues that would cause you to not be able to be to work on time, don’t bother applying. We do not schedule “extra” people and you not showing up to work or calling in last minute is a HUGE disservice to the other staff members.
The range owners/operators are female, so if you can’t work with women who have strong personalities and little to no filter, this is not the work environment for you.
You must be able to interact with people of all ages, genders, nationalities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, military branches, military ranks, and all levels of firearms knowledge (from “I don’t know what a muzzle is” to “I shoot competitively and actually rank pretty high up there”).
Knowledge of all firearm platforms is not required…but SOME firearms knowledge is helpful. If you don’t know, ASK someone who does. DO NOT give B.S. answers to customers. If you don’t know, say you don’t know and BE EAGER TO LEARN.
Must be able to lift and move things. How much weight? I don’t know…some of the cases of ammo & steel targets are pretty heavy, so maybe 50 pounds or so I’d guess. If you can heft a 50-pound bag of dog food into your grocery cart at Wal-Mart and then from the cart into your vehicle in the parking lot you’re probably good to go.
This is not a job for your primary income. This is for those with other income sources. The pay SUCKS (Lowe’s or McDonald’s pay more per hour) and we don’t have any real benefits (other than anything we carry will be at our cost plus tax – plus free range time for you and your immediate family…those who live in your residence) but we’re generally fun to work with. Cold beverages, coffee, & snacks are free for staff – sometimes we spring for lunch as well, but not always. We do have a fridge/freezer, toaster oven, microwave, crockpot, & grill.
Range Officer Description
Part-time – 1-3 days per week (could be more if you want and if needed).
Range Safety Officer certification is not required, but is helpful. We will offer the NRA Range Safety Officer course to the right candidates. (There is always at least one certified RSO on-site at all times when the range is open.)
When not monitoring shooting activities on the range, other non-glamorous duties may be assigned, including, but not limited to picking up brass, repairing/building target stands, emptying trash, cleaning the restrooms, cleaning guns, etc.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time…outside…in the heat and in the cold…while monitoring shooters and spectators on the range. (Embrace the suck.)
Check-In/Retail Description
Part-time – 1-3 days per week (could be more if you want and if needed).

All of our range management, retail, background check, & firearms transfer systems are digital. Attention to detail & ability to follow procedures is CRITICAL.

After completing the interest form we will review it and you may be requested to come fill out an additional application. We’ll let you know.
