Are you an indoor or outdoor range?

We are an outdoor range, but the shooting tables are covered. We only shut down the range when there is lightning in the area. If it’s just regular rain…carry on. “If it ain’t raining, it ain’t training.” (If you know, you know.)

What are the distances of your range?

Our pistol bay lanes go up to 25 yards & our rifle bay lanes go up to 100 yards.

Do you have to be a member or make an appointment to shoot at the range?

We are open to the public (but memberships are available). We are first-come-first-served. (Members can reserve lanes in advance.)

Range rules can be found at this link.

Is there a dress code?

We do not allow open-toed shoes, tank tops, or low-cut tops. This is a safety issue, not a fashion issue.

If the firearm is legal and can be fired safely, you can shoot it at our range. All firearms must have sights or an optic.

What types of ammo are allowed?

We do not allow steel core/tip, steel shot, tracer rounds, or any incendiary rounds (dragon’s breath, etc.). Steel case is OK…just be sure to PICK UP YOUR CASINGS. Regardless of casing type, PICK IT UP and put it in the buckets provided. If you reload, you are welcome to keep your brass.

Do you have skeet/trap/sporting clays?

We allow shotguns to engage static targets only on our range. We refer skeet/trap/sporting clay shooters to Hermitage Farm Shooting Sports in Camden or the Wateree DNR Range on Sumter Highway in Eastover.

I am a new shooter. Can I get help learning to use my firearm?

Our range officers are on the range to ensure shooter safety. If you need assistance learning about your firearm, need to learn how to shoot, or want to improve your shooting skills, you will need to sign up for one of our group classes or book a time with our instructors for one-on-one instruction. Class offerings and the link to book individual instruction can be found at this link.

Do you have archery targets?

No.

I’m not a United States Citizen. Can I shoot at your range?

That’s a question that doesn’t have a simple answer, but here’s a brief overview, and our policy.

If you’re a Lawful Permanent Resident, then yes, because Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens are treated as Citizens under federal law for firearms purposes.

If you are in the United States under a non-immigrant visa, then no. While there are SOME people who are not Lawful Permanent Residents who are not prohibited from possessing firearms, that gets more complicated because you have to meet the exemption requirements under 18 USC 922(y), which involves a hunting license or official government business.

If you are not in the United States on a visa, it will depend on what country issued your passport.

If our staff has ANY doubt about whether you are allowed under federal law, we will err on the side of NOT allowing you to shoot at the range. We understand this can be frustrating, but we CANNOT risk our federal licenses or risk getting charged personally. Many times, we’ve heard the argument, “Such-and-such range let us shoot.” Well, guess what, we’re are not such-and-such range. They can risk violating federal law if they wish.
