Sandhill Shooting Sports is the host range for a team participating in the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP),which is part of the SSSF. The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is a 501(c)3 educational-athletic organization dedicated to providing shooting-sports education and opportunities to school-age youth around the United States to encourage young athlete personal growth and development.

Eligibility

Team membership is open to youth in grades 12 and under and full-time college/technical college students up to age 26. Athletes must be registered with SASP and comply with conduct requirements such as acting responsibly and following all safety rules while participating in the SASP, encouraging & supporting teammates, cooperating with and showing respect to coaches, representing the team in a positive manner, and understanding that unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification and even expulsion from the SASP.

In order to be eligible to participate in state, regional, or national competitions athletes must attend a minimum of 6 team practice sessions. Competition shoots are not counted as practice sessions (i.e. virtual matches).

Competitions are broken down into divisions and categories, so even though younger athletes might be on the same squad as an older athlete, they will not be directly competing in the same division.
