In response to recent mass shootings, trainers, instructors, and coaches all over the United States have come together as a unified front to offer training services, free of charge, to teachers, school administrators, and school staff on May 19, 2018, National Train A Teacher Day.
The overall purpose is to empower those who are entrusted with the care and education of our children and to give them the insight, knowledge, and skills to perhaps act instead of react, so they can save lives.
Training opportunities nationwide cover a host of areas including first aid, Refuse To Be A Victim, firearms safety, concealed carry, unarmed defense, TASER, purpose built active shooter training, run-hide-fight, and defensive tactics.
We encourage educators to look at what’s available in your area and take advantage of this opportunity. Similarly, we ask trainers in any discipline, to join the day and offer your expertise to help make this day a success.
Sandhill Shooting Sports is participating in National Train A Teacher Day by offering the NRA Pistol Marksmanship Simulator Training course. This two-hour course teaches basic marksmanship fundamentals and firearm safety using a simulated pistol with a resetting trigger and laser to indicate where the shots hit.
You can sign up online for one of the two class times offered. Click here to sign up for the 1 PM class. Click here to sign up for the 3:30 PM class.
