Combat Marksmanship

This 20-22 hour course will focus on fundamentals, safety, carbine manipulation, shooting and moving, transitions from rifle to pistol, shooting at night, shooting from cover, evaluation drills and a stress test.

From this course you should expect to improve accuracy and speed, gain confidence in your overall abilities, learn to shoot on the move and be introduced to some new techniques as well as learn to perform under stress.

Equipment requirements:

• Tactical carbine
• Tactical pistol
• 1,500 rounds rifle
• 500 pistol
• Red dot or 1-4 6x optic for carbine
• Red dot on pistol is optional
• Weapon light for both weapons (800-1000 lumens)
• Head lamp or flash light for clearing weapons
• Sling (V-tac recommended)
• Shooting gloves
• Hearing and eye protection (clear lenses for night)
• 6 magazines per weapon system recommended
• Body armor/plate carrier kit with gun belt/pistol belt (or ability to carry 2-3 mags of each type)
• Holster for pistol to accommodate mounted light
• Magazine pouches

Additional suggested equipment:

• Range bag
• Water/hydration
• Snacks
• Range bag
• Cleaning equipment
• Extra batteries for optics, lights
• Ball cap

Time Line:

• March 1
  • 3 pm – live fire confirm zero, hold offs, and evaluation shoot
  • 5-7 pm – classroom
• March 2
  • 9 am – 5 pm – daytime live fire
  • 6-8 pm – night live fire
• March 3
  • 9 am – day live fire/stress test

The instructor for this course is a United States Army Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. His qualifications include:

• NRA Pistol Instructor
• Marine Corps Scout Sniper Basic Course
• Marine Corps High Angle/Mountain Sniper Course
• Marine Corps Advanced Sniper Course
• Special Forces Sniper Course
• Special Forces CQB Course
