We invite you to join us on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 11 AM – 3 PM to try out fully automatic and suppressed rifles and pistols courtesy of Innovative Arms. They will have representatives available to answer your questions about suppressor ownership and they will be giving away a .22 suppressor*!

The cost to shoot is per magazine. Current estimated cost is $1-$20 per magazine and will vary depending on caliber and round count.

Demo Day March 2016

*Winner is responsible for obtaining the proper tax stamp prior to taking possession of the suppressor.

Thank you all so much for the support you have shown us so far. We are still amazed at the response we get from people who see our vehicle magnets or stop by the range when we’re working.

It’s been a while since we’ve updated you on the progress of the range. We try to post updates on Facebook, but we know not all of you are following us closely on Facebook.

shooting-range-noise-areaWe received our “Shooting Range Noise Area” signs and handed them over to the Kershaw County Department of Public Works week before last for them to get them installed on Highway 12 (near the RV park) and on Highway 601 (one somewhere near the Target Distribution Center and one somewhere between Wolfe Mechanical & Bojangles). They haven’t actually been installed yet.

2015-09-13-15.10.51croppedweb2015-09-14-15.47.38croppedOur ADA compliant ramp & steps to the building entrances were completed last weekend as well as the skirting for the building. It no longer looks like someone abandoned a trailer in the middle of an empty lot – from the front side of the building anyway. We’ve also gotten the parking “curbs” anchored (landscape timbers) and the disabled parking signs up for those parking spots.

parkingThe Fire Marshal came do his inspection first thing Wednesday morning & the county’s inspection was Thursday morning. Our electric meter & service connection was done Friday. Unfortunately, something was amiss with the pump/plumbing, so we had to get that squared away Saturday.

pistol-tableWe tried to get the rifle benches and pistol tables installed yesterday. The ground is SO HARD that it took several hours to get one rifle bench and one pistol table in the ground. We’re going to have to rethink our strategy there.

Some of you have expressed interest in going ahead and getting your memberships done. If that’s something you would like to do, the membership form is now up on the web site. It’s a “fillable PDF”, so you can type your information into the form and print it out. You can mail it in with a check to our PO Box (we don’t have mail service at the range), or drop it off to us when we’re out at the range working. Give us a call first to make sure we’re there. If you bring your form to us, we can process a credit card payment. Also, we can do a “split payment” (30 days apart) for credit card payments.

Active/retired first responders, active/retired military, educators, and TWAW members qualify for a membership discount, so give us a shout (email or call us at (803) 310-7977) to find out what your total will be. Don’t forget that the great state of South Carolina deems shooting ranges to be “places of amusement”, so we must collect 5% Admissions Tax on all memberships and range fees.

We will update again as soon as we have been issued our use permit and have an official opening date.

Again, your support and patience is appreciated more than you know. We are looking forward to seeing the fruits of the blood, sweat, and tears we literally (seriously) have put into getting the range open.

After many months of behind the scenes work – and frustration – we hope to open sometime in August. Delivery of our building (classroom & retail space) is scheduled for the first week of August. Once all the utilities get hooked up and the ramp & steps are built, we have to get inspected by the county. Hopefully, it won’t take too long and we’ll be able to get our use permit around the middle of August. We’ll definitely keep you updated! If you’re not on our email list and want to make sure you don’t miss out on any major announcements, class schedules, etc. you can sign up on our email list in the sidebar or at this link.
